Tragedy has ensued after yet another incident of violent road rage was caught on tape―this time in Anhui province. On April 26, a woman riding an electric bicycle was seen on surveillance footage being brutally kicked around by the male driver of an electric tricycle. The next day, the woman hanged herself.
Surveillance footage caught the moment the two vehicles nearly collided at an intersection after the woman, surnamed Lu, was riding on the wrong side of the road. The man was then seen getting off his tricycle and violently kicking Lu until she fell off her bike. After kicking her head and back several times, he returned to his vehicle and rode away.
The footage also shows three bystanders at the scene, none of whom offered to help 45-year-old Lu.
Lu’s husband, surnamed Zhang, told reporters that he was reassured by Lu that she was okay, so he decided not to call the police. The next day, however, Zhang returned home to find that his wife had hanged herself.
Shocked by Lu’s death, Zhang and his son checked the security footage and realized that the attack on Lu was much more serious than she had described. The two decided to print out the man’s image from the footage in hopes that the public will help identify the man who viciously beat her on the road.
Local police are also investigating the assault and the whereabouts of the man.
