Frenando Prats: Naturalism @ Matthew Liu Fine Arts
Head to Matthew Liu Fine Arts for the newly opened exhibition by Fernando Prats. The Chilean artist has been based in Barcelona since 1990 and does naturalistic works. Western Techniques with a Chinese Touch: 115th Anniversary of the Birth of Guan Liang @ Long Museum West Bund
Guang Liang was a part of the first generation of Chinese artists studying abroad, which led him to choose to integrate Gauguin, Van Gogh and Matisse’s techniques into his own works. After returning to China, he started draw his inspiration from masters like Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi, Huang Binhong, Liu Haisu, Pan Tianshou and BadaShanren. As a result, he developed a signature style which ingeniously blends Chinese and western techniques and interprets the spirit of Chinese art with a modern touch, leading to a new chapter in the history of Chinese painting. Last chance: LIFE @ Pearl Lam Fine Art
This Tuesday is your last chance to check out LIFE, a collaboration with Pearl Lam Design and Art Project CZ. It’s an exhibition of new and past works by Shanghai-based designer Danful Yang. Dutch designers Maarten Baas and Studio Makkink & Bey are also featured. The exhibit takes place at Le Petit Cochon Vert, a French-style restaurant in Shanghai’s French Concession. The exhibit shows common objects that we use in daily life, but they’re remade in unexpected ways in an effort to shift our everyday perspectives. Find out more here.

Movie Night: One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
