Two Michelin star chef Philippe Mille of Champagne’s critically-acclaimed Domaine Les Crayères is coming to Shanghai for a few exclusive events. For two days only, May 25 & 26, he’s presenting a 4-course lunch and 5-course dinner promising a classical French menu with a modern twist. All this is happening at the stunning Calypso Restaurant & Lounge, designed by world-famous architect Shigeru Ban, where you can dine alfresco under a retractable glass roof in the ambient second-floor terrace lounge.
Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux, Philippe Mille’s cuisine is inspired by both textures and flavours. Philippe Mille describes his cuisine as “classical but adapted to the tastes of today”.
After a series of distinctive recognition from his peers (Bocuse d’Or bronze medal in 2009), he became Meilleur Ouvrier de France (2011), France’s highest professional distinction. The same year he won his first Michelin star after one year at Les Crayères (Reims) and the second on his second year (2012).
In town for the first ever event by the Primum Familiae Vini,an international assocation of 11 world’s finest wine producing families from France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain, Mille’s gala dinner at the event, priced at ￥3,888 per person has already been completely sold out.
But fortunately for foodies in Shanghai, seats still remain for the (much more affordably-priced) two-day event on May 25 & 26, where Mille will be presenting a 4-course lunch menu and a 5-course dinner menu. Wine pairings, selected by in-house sommeiler Jasper Sun, are also available for both lunch and dinner.

Designed by world-famous architect Shigeru Ban, Calypso Restaurant & Lounge is housed in an airy, two-storey glasshouse that is openly modern with detailed, traditional touches. Its tall glass panels retract in the warmer months for guests to enjoy alfresco dining in a place of manicured greenery, in the heart of the city.
