The Don Juan of Hunan who made headlines last month after it was discovered that he’d been courting 17 women at the same time has now been put under criminal detention for fraud.
The suspect, a smooth talkin’ Romeo from Changsha surnamed Yuan, was exposed after he’d gotten into a car accident on March 24 and 17 different girlfriends showed up to see him in the hospital. Soon enough, the women realized they were all dating the same guy, and that he’d been swindling them out of hundreds of thousands of yuan.
The girlfriends created a chat group online called “revenge alliance”, where they exchanged details about their relationships with Yuan and how much money he’d gotten out of them.
The women told reporters that between all of them, they’d lent the man around 500,000 yuan. He’d been married to one of the women and had a son with another one.
Following Yuan’s arrest, the women said they “would now move on with their lives”, according to SCMP. It’s unclear whether they got their money back.
