A photo series showing a group of college students seemingly floating through the woods of Luoyang, Henan province while dressed in traditional Chinese qipao have made waves online.
According to China News, the photos were staged at the serene Longyuwan National Forest, in an attempt to showcase the harmony between nature and human being.
The qipao has been around since the 17th century, but the modern style typically seen nowadays is styled after those worn by women in Shanghai in the 1920s.
Fashion designers tend to incorporate elements of the qipao into everyday wear, while many Chinese women still don the traditional dress (and not gowns resembling giant omelets, despite what some may think) at formal occasions.
