FLUX by Wang Huangsheng @ Pearl Lam Galleries
Go check out the works by artistic director and artist Wang Huangsheng. It features ink on paper, mixed media installations, and video works. The artist has a reputation for experimentation, and exploring ideas of flux, which is a fluid, radiant energy in the realm of physics and the artist has explored that even further. On until July 20. Principal bartender Steve Schenider @ Speak Low
Steve Schneider, the principal bartender from NYC cocktail bar Employees Only is in Shanghai for a week long visit. He’s the first of six well-known international and Asian mixologists from Bacardi’s guest bar tending campaign that will be visiting the city. The former marine and star of hit documentary Hey Bartender (2013) will create his signature drinks, among which are the Signal, Escalante and Fraise Sauvage. He’ll be at Calypso on Monday (8 – 11 PM) and Tuesday (7.30 – 10.30 PM) and Barules on Thursday (9 PM – 12 AM).

Chilean Ariel Dorfman’s drama brings you the tale about a couple, a stranger and a mock trial. It is set in South America, where protagonist Paulina is a former political prisoner who suffered repeated rapes orchestrated by a sadistic doctor, who played Schubert’s Death and the Maiden during her torture. When Paulina’s husband comes home late with a stranger who’s helped him fix a tire years later. The stranger sounds an awful lot like the sadistic doctor… but is it the same villain, or is Paulina just paranoid? Until June 14.
