A series of pictures showing students from a high school in Xiayi county, Henan province tearing up their textbooks and test papers and throwing the pages into the air a few days prior to their gaokao exam have gone viral.
The scraps of paper were seen scattered everywhere all over the university campus as students released their stress ahead of exam season and bid farewell to 12 years of compulsory education.
In related news, a clearly joyless headmaster from Hanchuan Experimental High School in Hubei province reportedly expelled seven students for tearing up their textbooks prior to the gaokao.
Officials from the school later stated that no students had been expelled, despite notice of their expulsion being posted on the campus bulletin board.
