We’ve seen themed parks, themed restaurants, themed hotels and even themed flights, but we never thought we’d live to see a Hello Kitty-themed hospital. Fortunately, these newborns at the Hao Sheng Hospital in Yuanlin, Taiwan were born just in time.
The maternity hospital provides labour and postpartum care to mothers, so really, it’s them who are fortunate.
With the rising popularity of postpartum care centers, the competition among maternity care service providers has become increasingly intense. Professional medical attention is no longer the only criteria for maternity care services.
Mothers are now looking for care-giving facilities that have a safe and comfortable environment and are fully equipped with furniture and appliances, so as to ensure a smooth and stress-free childbirth experience. Facing high demands and expectations from mothers-to-be, maternity hospitals have stepped up their game to gain an edge in the business.
The hospital’s director, Tsai Tsung-chi, obtained authorization to use the Hello Kitty image from its Japanese company, making this one the only Sanrio-certified medical institution providing maternity care services.
All staff members at the hospital wear Hello Kitty-inspired pink uniforms and aprons. The walls inside the wards are splashed with baby pink, and Hello Kitty details can be seen down to the hospital beds, bedsheets and pillowcases. You can also find Hello Kitty dolls, mascots and decorations inside the rooms.
Newborn babies will also be wrapped in Hello Kitty-printed blankets, with blue blankets for baby boys and pink for baby girls.
It’s so cute you’ll want to die… and be reborn at the Hao Sheng Hello Kitty Maternity Hospital in Yuanlin.
