A man in his 50s was forced to seek help from police in Heilongjiang province after being endlessly harassed by a 72-year-old woman who’d apparently taken a fancy to him.
According to Kankan News, the man called the police on June 1 to report a woman who’d broken one of the windows of his home. He said she’d been knocking at his door for 20 minutes without any intention of leaving.
Police arrived at the man’s home in Mudanjiang to find an elderly woman standing in his yard.
Upon questioning, the woman, surnamed Zhang, told police that she knew the man and that she simply wanted to chat with him.
The unmarried man in 50s confirmed that she was a booth vendor next door who’d long attempted to court him, but he refused her as he couldn’t accept the wide age gap between them.
He added that he had moved several times but she’d always managed to locate him.
A police officer named Gao Tianzhi had to gently lecture Zhang about expressing her affection in an appropriate manner, and she agreed to restrain herself. At least for now.
