Opening Party: Heaven Summer Dragon Boat Festival @ ICON & Shanghai Luwan Stadium
China’s iconic gay circuit event Heaven by Angel Events Shanghai has been around since 2011. This year its 2015 Summer parties will take place during the Dragon Boat Festival this weekend. It’s the very first time in the Chinese LGBTQ event to have a gay event in a sports stadium in Shanghai! Three world famous DJs and producers will be headlining the three night event: DJ Nacho Chapado from Spain, DJ GSP from Greece and DJ Alex Acosta from Mexico! Supporting acts are DJ Odin from Taipei, DJ Herric also from Taipei and Shanghai’s very own DJ Javy. Expect circuit house, tribal, techno and dance music. PFLAG Conference @ Andaz Xintiandi
The well-received PFLAG Conference, held since 2013, was attended by more than 400 LGBT and their parents during Pride6 last year. Participants have shared sincere coming out stories at the conference, which helped LGBT children and their parents to better understand each other. Rather be a Doctor: Interpreting the Medical Elements in Chen Zhen’s Artistic Creation @ Y.W.C.A. Building
Check out this event with both exhibition and lecture. The works of artist Chen Zhen, who struggled as a terminal patient from a family of doctors, will be showcased at the exhibit. Through his works he expresses his experiences and thoughts regarding human body, psychology, diseases and medical science. The talk will be hosted by Liu Qiang, who is the deputy director of Clinical and Evidence-based Studies Center of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.
