A Lamborghini went up in flames after colliding with roadside barriers and smashing into a lorry while speeding down a highway, killing the driver who did not escape from the car before it was consumed by flames.
According to Yangcheng Evening News, the incident took place at around 10 p.m. yesterday evening near Foshan city in Guangdong province. The driver of the green Lamborghini, worth 4 million yuan (approximately $650,000), did not have a driving licence.
“The Lamborghini was running at over 160 km/h. After crashing, it soon went up in flames. Several explosions occurred and the car was burnt into scraps within minutes,” said a witness.
“The sports car rammed into the end of the blue truck,” said another man who saw the crash. “It left a 50-meter-long skid mark down the road.”
Just as with previous accidents involving unlicensed drivers of luxury cars, such as the Fast and Furious-like car crash in Beijing a few months earlier, netizens were quick to suggest that the driver must be the spoilt son of a dubious government official.
