A woman from mainland China was criticized for her “inconsiderate” behavior after she was spotted airing out her undergarments on a railing at Hong Kong Disneyland, Apple Daily reports. Photos of the makeshift laundry line were posted online months after another Chinese traveler was chastised for hanging her unmentionables to dry across several seats at a Thai airport.
A passerby surnamed Lee said that he was searching for a spot to watch a parade at The Happiest Place on Earth on June 29 when he saw the woman, who spoke in fluent Mandarin, draping five pieces of soggy clothing, including her bra and undies, on the iron railing.
A few security guards approached the tourist and asked her to pack up her lingerie. She removed the garments from the railings for a short while, but placed them out to dry again as soon as the parade started. Security once again asked her to remove her belongings, and she flashed them a ‘death glare’ before reluctantly collecting her things and leaving, the report said.
Lee said that the woman’s behavior reflected poorly upon the theme park as well as the somewhat tarnished reputation of mainland travelers in Hong Kong.
Web users, as usual, were even more critical.
“Well, if you can tolerate them peeing everywhere, you can tolerate this,” one netizen said.
“Just wait till the Disneyland in Shanghai opens, and ‘indulge’ in this kind of behavior there,” another suggested.
