A man in Shanghai was recently charged for the murder of his ex-girlfriend’s lover, whose body had been dismembered and stored in plastic trash bags.
Putuo district prosectors said that the suspect, 40-year-old Zhu Maohua, is believed to have stabbed Yuan Yi to death on January 31 during a heated row over Yuan’s girlfriend, who’d previously dated Zhu.
According to Shanghai Daily, Zhu broke into his ex’s apartment as she was out and stabbed Yuan several times in the stomach before wrapping his body up in a sheet and stashing the corpse in his car.
Back at his apartment in Changxing Island, Zhu dismembered the body with an electric saw and threw the pieces into trash bags.
The two had reportedly clashed weeks before the murder when Zhu saw Yuan at his ex’s flat and warned her that he planned on killing the man, a threat which apparently had been taken with the tiniest of salt grains.
