A photo that’s been circulating online since yesterday reveals a rare view of the Condor, China’s latest unmanned aircraft. The photos are so clear that the actual size and details of the plane can be observed.
The Condor, with its dual body design, is the nation’s latest high-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aircraft with radar warning. Foreign media reported that the advance plane was built in cooperation between China and Russia.
Extending from the back of the plane is an unknown model of engine, estimated to be about four meters long.
The head of the left body is grey, indicating that it is made with wave-transparent composite material, potentially with a Satcom antenna installed inside. The head of the right side body is coated with aluminum lithium alloy, which is not suitable for installing such an antenna.
The rudder of the vertical tail is very similar to the Shenyang J-11 series. The spoiler’s leading edge is made with grey wave-transparent material and features a larger sized antenna.
