Two men in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province were arrested after taking a practical joke a tad too by attempting to rob a bus driver with toy guns.
Their fake heist lasted only a matter of seconds on the evening of June 29, when a young man equipped with two neon-colored water guns stepped onto the bus yelling: “This is a robbery, get down on your knees!”
The shirtless assailant then pointed the squirt gun at the bus driver and shouted at her to “Open the deposit box or I’ll shoot you!” He promptly ran off the bus, People’s Daily reports.
The bus driver called the police shortly after the incident. Figuring it must have been a prank, they looked out on social media sites for someone to upload pictures or videos.
Just as expected, a video filmed from the inside of the bus was published just a day after. The police quickly identified the ‘robber’, surnamed Nie, and his accomplice, a man surnamed Zheng. The two were charged and detained for causing public disturbances.
The two admitted that they were only trying to be funny and apologized for frightening the bus driver and passengers with their plastic guns and intimidating rock-hard abs.
