The lengths some Chinese grannies will go to for a good deal never ceases to amaze us. Yesterday, elderly women were were spotted queuing up outside of a pharmacy as early as 4:00 in the morning just to get their hands on some free goods.
The pharmacy was giving away products to the first 100 customers of the day for a promotional deal. Some 10 grannies in the front of the line had reportedly been standing outside of the building since the early hours of the morning to get a head start. An 82-year-old woman surnamed Zhang was 10th in line, and told reporters that she arrived at the pharmacy at 4:00 a.m.
Third in line was a 60-year-old lady, surnamed Lee, who’d brought her four-year-old grandson with her to stake out territory next to the building.
The pharmacy opened its doors at 7:30 a.m., and soon after, both Lee and Zhang happily emerged from the building with a free bottle of vegetable oil.
As is usually the case, most of the people waiting in line were old ladies, some of whom had seemingly grown a bit impatient with one another.
The queue extended a couple of meters outside the pharmacy.
