A four-year-old boy who’d managed to get his head stuck in the grills (as they sometimes do) below the window of his third-floor apartment in Yixing, Jiangsu province was saved by an intrepid neighbor who climbed up a water pipe and scaled the building to reach him.
When neighbors spotted the child dangling three floors above the ground, they tried to knock on the boy’s apartment door, only to find out that no one was home. They called the police and pulled out a huge sheet above the ground as a makeshift safety net, in case the worst should happen.
Our hero Huang Wei, who lives five blocks away from the boy, arrived at the scene after being alerted by the noisy crowds. After assessing the situation, he promptly took off his glasses, removed his shoes and began climbing.
The boy’s parents had already rushed back home, and Huang passed the kid to them through the window. He sustained no injuries in the accident.
