Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 sci-fi classic ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ is famous for its use of classical music. From Johann Strauss II’s ‘The Blue Danube’ to Richard Strauss’ ’Sunrise’, to Ligeti’s micro polyphonic vocal pieces, the music employed in the film not only served as accompaniment to scenes, but also sound designs with structural significant.
