With this week’s opening of the 1921Gucci restaurant it seems as though we can finally say that Shanghai has made it as a world-class city.
Housed on the fourth floor of the IAPM luxury shopping mall on Huaihai Lu, the cafe is the world’s only Gucci-branded full-service restaurant. It took only two years to realize.
You can ascend to this one-of-a-kind eating establishment from the Gucci store on the first via direct elevator. The decoration: fancy schmancy. The ambiance: classy as hell. The pillows: numerous.
In case you temporarily forget where you are, the menus, cutlery and napkins are all conveniently emblazoned with the 1921GUCCI logo.
The restaurant features a wide variety of mostly Italian dishes. Lunch runs around 150RMB per person, while dinner is around 300RMB. Check out a sneak peek of the lunch menu via this Tencent food blogger whose trip to 1921Gucci seems to have been the seminal moment in the writer’s life.
Of course, you can always just blow all your money on this mango cheesecake.
