A total of 17 tourists from China were hurt after a road accident caused a tour bus to roll over in the popular Thai resort island of Phuket on Sunday.
The bus overturned at around 12:00 p.m. on the Bypass Road, across from the Phuket Outlet retail mall, the consular office said. One person was seriously injured and all of the passengers on board were rushed to the hospital.
The Chinese consulate in Thailand had already contacted the head of the tourist group to negotiate compensation, according to Sina News. The accident is still being investigated, but it’s speculated that it was a result of slippery roads caused by rainfall.
On March 25, three Chinese tourists were killed when a bus plunged off a downhill road in Phuket.
