A bar manager in Hong Kong was arrested after he pulled out a fruit knife and attacked a Russian customer who’d lingered around after closing time. That’s one way to clear a place out.
The scene went down at an unnamed bar on Yiu Wa Street in Causeway bay. The Russian man, identified as a 33-year-old IT worker named Alexander, had gone out drinking with some friends on Sunday night.
Alexander and his two mates stuck around well beyond closing time, 3:00 a.m., by which time most of his party animal pals had left. At around 5:00 a.m., a server approached them and asked them to leave. After they refused, the bar manger, a man surnamed Au, got into an argument with the group.
As things escalated, Au grabbed a 10-inch fruit knife and attacked Alexander, slicing his ears and fingers, according to EJ Insight.
After Alexander ran out of the bar, witnesses saw him hide under a van. Au yelled at him to get out and slashed the vehicle several times in a fit of anger.
The victim is now receiving treatment at a local hospital.
