Four people from mainland China were jailed over a nasty scuffle that broke out at a Hong Kong airport earlier this week, leaving at least seven employees injured.
The dispute occurred in the Hong Kong International Airport at around 2:00 a.m. on July 28. Passengers meant to board Hong Kong Airlines flight 304 seemingly became a bit irritated after their flight had been delayed for around six hours due to bad weather.
As one passenger attempted to force her way onto the plane, airport staff had to tackle the unruly passenger down, prompting a violent tussle between employees and agitated travelers. Some of the workers were injured and six passengers, aged 21 to 42, were arrested.
Shanghai Daily reports that four people were found guilty on nine counts, including common assault, and given custodial sentences for up to 11 days. A fifth passenger involved in the dispute was fined 1,500 HDK while another who pleaded not guilty will appear in court next month.
