In yet another demonstration of just how unbearably hot it is in China right now, Hangzhou residents have been voluntarily spending copious amounts of time in the city’s metro. Just chillin.
Facing outside temperatures of up to 39 degrees Celsius in recent days, city residents have sought refuge from the heat in Hangzhou’s air-conditioned metro.
Initially, this was causing some congestion problems for the city’s well-behaved commuters. However, instead of throwing the freeloaders out into the heat, as you might expect, the laid-back management at Qiaosi Station on Line 1 simply set up barriers to allow residents to just chill in relative peace and something approaching comfort.
Kudos, Hangzhou Metro! Hopefully this makes up for that time you made it rain on commuters.
Anyway, really seems like that super massive typhoon can’t get here fast enough, huh?
