It appears as though a brand-new housing development in Shanxi province isn’t going to have as many happy homeowners as they’d originally hoped, with hundreds refusing to accept their new homes because the walls happen to be made of highly-combustible plastic foam.
From the outside, these
deathtraps luxury residences in Taiyuan don’t look half bad. There’s trees, grass and even a gutter! But it turns out that the insulation materials the developers used isn’t quite up to standard seeming to crumble like a cookie and ignite like a newspaper.
Of course, this isn’t the first case of shoddy workmanship we’ve seen in China. It’s just that usually the hellish cracks start to show two or three years in. Scaring off your tenants before they even move in? Now, that’s pretty impressive.
Anyway, it’s nothing a little tape won’t fix.
