Hundreds of people from Spain and China recently came together and joined hands for one common goal: building the world’s tallest human tower. The attempt was aired on CCTV-1’s reality TV show “Challenge the Impossible”, which sees participants from 26 countries team up to complete crazy difficult tasks.
In this episode, the game contestants had to form a nine-story-high human tower, making it one of the tallest ever. The competitors squeezed together to create a tight-knit base, and began building up. The challenge was completed when a young girl, wearing a helmet, climbed all the way to the top and raised her hand.
The previous record for such a feat was recorded in 2012, when the Castellers de Vilafranca team built an eight-person high human tower in honor of the rebuilding of the New York World Trade Center. They all managed to get into position within just five minutes.
The Fuyong Acrobatic Arts Group of Bao An District had also attempted to take the Guinness World Record for the highest human tower back in 2007, but failed when the structure fell over.
