In the wake of the tragic explosions in Tianjin last Wednesday, people from across China have joined together to help, pray and mourn for victims of the disaster. Another such inspiring spontaneous tribute took place in a Shanghai yesterday involving an entire football stadium full of mourners.
Before a football match yesterday, fans around the stadium stood to show their support for those affected by the blasts that have killed at least 112 people.
Some groups of fans rose and stood in silent tribute, while others held banners or signs with supportive words, still others solemnly held candles in commemoration.
Already, thousands of volunteers have flocked to the city to help victims in any way they can. Tianjin residents have gathered in prayer for those lost, and even embattled Shaolin abbot Shi Yongxin has gotten into the act leading his followers to pray for those affected.
