Known for her beauty, altruism and occasional clumsiness, Fan Bingbing is also one of the richest women in the movie industry, ranking number four in Forbes’ 2015 list naming the World’s Highest-Paid Actresses.
Fan collected 21 million USD from June 1 2014 to June 1 2015, earning her a place among the top five leading ladies of film behind Jennifer Lawrence ($52 million), Scarlett Johansson ($35.5 million) and Melissa McCarthy ($23 million). Rounding off the top five is Jennifer Aniston, with 16.5 million USD.
The figures are based on data from Nielson, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, among other sources.
The only non-American on the international ranking is Bingbing Fan, who joins the highest-paid thanks to roles in movies such as The White-Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom and endorsements with Chopard and L’Oreal. She is likely best-known to U.S. cinema-goers for her role in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Fan has for three consecutive years topped the Forbes China Celebrity list, which surveys the income of Greater China’s most famous faces. Following her lead this year was Jay Chou, Nicholis Tse, Jackie Chan and Huang Xiaoming.
However, in a Forbes rich list released last month, Jackie Chan was named the second highest-paid actor in the world, pocketing an estimated 50 million USD last year.
