After a little girl fell and had her leg crushed under a bus, a group of around 100 good Samaritans in Guangxi sprung to action on Wednesday to move the massive vehicle and rescue the child.
The girl and her grandmother had accidentally tripped while they were stepping off the bus, China News reports. Just then, the bus suddenly began to move, running over the little girl’s left leg and trapping it underneath the tire.
Bystanders quickly banded together and tried to push and lift the bus off the crying girl’s leg. With a little help from a jack, they were able to lift the bus up just enough to slide the now unconscious girl out from underneath.
She was rushed to the hospital and doctors say that her injuries are not life-threatening.
In a country where many bystanders refuse to act to help save strangers fearing a scam, this story has gone viral on Weibo with netizens praising the good Samaritans and denouncing the careless driver.
“When people are united, they can even move mountains,” commented one web user.
