Yesterday evening, Xi’an police carried out a massive raid into one of the city’s rumored dens of disrepute, presumably seriously ruining some people’s Chinese Valentine’s Day plans.
Local reporters followed along as 19 small groups of officers stormed into the alley and seven-story building with a sketchy reputation in Yuhuazhai district. According to NetEase, the investigation was incredibly thorough. They scoured lobbies, game rooms and parlors; searched through some 70 rented rooms and 360 residences hunting for any sign of corrupting influences.
After all that, somehow they only actually ended up arresting four people and charging eight more.
Maybe they should have come back a little later?
