The two victims were Huang Yulan and Gao Yuzhu from Xinyu, Jiangxi province. They were mother and daughter.
According to NetEase, Huang Yulan and Gao Yuzhu’s father had divorced when their daughter was still very young. Each formed their own separate families. Huang Yulan had recently been laid-off by her employer while her ex-husband works as a bank clerk.
20 people were killed, including seven Chinese tourists, in Monday’s bombing in Bangkok. 19 people from the mainland, five from Hong Kong and two from Taiwan are still receiving treatment in hospitals after being injured in the bomb blast.
Police are still hunting for a man seen dropping off a backpack shortly before the explosion. They have released a sketch and video of their main suspect, who has been described as looking “foreign.”
