In order to test out the conditions for life around the Tianjin blast sites more than a week after the disastrous chemical explosions, Chinese authorities have apparently resorted to locking innocent animals in cages at ground zero and then just waiting to see what happens to them.
The various toxin guinea pigs include rabbits, pigeons and chickens. Presumably, they are a little confused as to what is going on and would like to know why everyone gets a gas mask and hazard suit except for them.
Perhaps this experiment was inspired by the mysterious deaths of thousands of fish earlier this week, which washed up on shore in mass 6km from the Tianjin blast site. The government investigated and it turns out there is nothing to worry about, because there were no traces of cyanide detected in the schools of dead fish. Just one of those regular, old, run-of-the-mill mass fish slaughters. Maybe they were in a cult?
Local officials have acknowledged that the Ruihai International Logistics warehouse where the explosions took place stored at least 40 different kinds of chemicals, including 700 tons of sodium cyanide, 800 tons of ammonium nitrate and 500 tons of potassium.
We’ll see if any of those kill any bunnies.
