A giant fish-shaped pot built near Dongjiang Lake in Hunan province for a fishing festival on Thursday was declared the world’s largest by Carrying the Flag World Records. They did it!
While it may not have been validated by Guinness, this pot is certainly very, very big (even bigger than that giant erhu we reported on yesterday). It is around 11 meters long, two meters wide and 0.5 meters deep, and used to cook and serve gallons of fish soup.
According to organizers, the pot can hold 5.5 tons of ingredients at one time.
Some 10,000 tourists lined up to get a bowl and try a taste. Yum!
