A transparent viewing platform that’s claimed to be the largest-ever in Asia is under construction and will soon be opened in Chongqing’s Wulong county.
The platform juts out 11 meters from the edge of a cliff at Tian Sheng San Qiao, a series of limestone formations located in Xiannushan Town, and measures 26 meters wide. The see-through viewing deck sits a cool 1,200 meters above sea level.
According to People’s Daily:
Designed by more than 20 top-notch experts from home and abroad, the viewing platform is completely embedded in the palisades […] Visitors can see the natural landscape of Tian-Sheng-San-Qiao, with a depth of 280 meters from the bottom of the cliff.
The platform joins the likes of other horrifying and apparently record-breaking glass structures in China including the country’s highest transparent skywalk and the world’s longest horseshoe glass walkway—also in Chongqing.
The platform is currently in its final stage of installation and will likely be open to visitors by National Day this year.
