A tourist site in Sichuan has set aside a special bamboo grove so that tourists can forever record their visit and/or love upon the bamboo’s bark.
According to NetEase, the bamboo forest has received more tourists this summer than they have in recent years. About 10 bamboo stems were found carved with words by tourists.
The tourist site then decided to open up a new area where they planted a stronger variety of bamboo, so that tourists could carve until their hearts were content.
Park management said that carving words onto the surface of this new type of bamboo wouldn’t have any negative effects for the plant’s growth.
Romantic tourists who love writing on nature should flock to this park to express their love in the open. Last year, one carver in Changchun city, Jilin province, caved a total of 100 Chinese characters into 93 poplar trees on a single street, spelling out a love letter to an unidentified recipient.
