The youngest student to be admitted this year to Shanghai’s Fudan University, one of the top colleges in China, moved into the school’s dorms yesterday.
Xiao Yuhe was accepted by the School of Mathematical Sciences after earning a high score of 692 on his college entrance exam in June. He’s only 14 years old.
The young prodigy enrolled at Beijing’s No.8 High School at the age of 10 and managed to finish the eight-year curriculum in half the time, according to Shanghai Daily.
He said that while it’s long been his dream to attend Fudan University, he is somewhat worried about adapting to “adult” life.
“The most important homework for me this summer was to learn how to wash my clothes and make my bed,” he said in the report. Precious.
Xiao Yuhe will be living in a Yangpu district dormitory with older roommates. However, on campus he’ll have the company of two other students just months older than him who were also admitted to the university. This includes Yuan Yifan, a 14-year-old Dongguan girl who was accepted to the renowned university after earning a 677 on her gaokao exam.
