A man fell 30 meters to his death after he got too close to the edge of a cliff to take a photo at a scenic spot in Zhuji, Zhejiang province and lost his footing.
The man’s body was discovered in a stream of water running below the Longmen Waterfall near Dongbai Mountain, Xinhua reports. Lying next to him was a selfie stick and a cell phone.
Police ruled out foul play in the death of the unidentified man, a local believed to be in his 30s, and concluded that he’d slipped off the edge of a cliff above while taking selfies.
The last photo taken on the man’s phone.
Sadly, this isn’t the first case of its kind. In 2013, a female tourist died after falling 55 meters from a cliff in Heilongjiang province when she got too close to the edge to pose for a photo.
