Not even a little rain could dampen the patriotic spirit of hundreds of tourists in Henan, who lined up yesterday to punish “Japanese devils” made of sandbags and straw for their war crimes with vengeful slaps, pokes and punches.
The tourist site at Laojunshan set up a winding path with dozens of (very realistic) “Japanese war criminals” tied up along the way. The culprits were all sentenced to execution for their inhuman crimes against China during World War II and awaited their punishment. They were made to kneel in shame while being propped up on fence rails to ensure perfect slapping height.
Even women and children joined in on the wholesome family fun filled with punches, eye-gouging and even some shots below the belt delivered to the sadistic sandbag soldiers.
With Beijing’s Victory Day Parade now mercifully past, you would think this kind of entertainment should stop fairly soon and we’ll return to a more veiled version of Japanese hatred in China.
