A foreign passenger died over the weekend after falling unconscious on a flight from Shanghai to Bangkok.
Shanghai Airlines flight FM855 took off from Pudong International Airport at 3:00 p.m. yesterday and was scheduled to arrive in the Thai capitol at 6:50 p.m., according to Shanghai Daily, citing the airliner.
The male passenger fell ill mid-flight, so the plane diverted to Nanchang, Jiangxi province and touched down at 4:40 p.m. It’s unclear what caused him to pass out.
Cabin crew administered first aid on the plane but the unidentified man, reported to be Indian, died at a hospital in Nanchang.
The flight left for Bangkok at around 8:00 p.m. that day.
