A vehicle in Lanzhou, Gansu province became the latest victim of China’s “swiss cheese” landscape when it was was swallowed up by a massive hole that suddenly appeared on the road yesterday.
Nobody was harmed in the most recent incident, except for the paint job on that car. That poor car.
Other such cases, however, have not ended so fortunately. In 2013, the ground collapsed beneath a man walking along a Shenzhen street, killing him.
More recently, five people fell into a sinkhole that suddenly formed below them as they were waiting at a bus stop in Harbin, although they all survived.
Sinkholes, sinkholes everywhere.
