Photo Shanghai @ Shanghai Exhibition Centre
The biggest photography exhibition in the PRC attracting commercial galleries from around the world. Collectors’ and VIP private view commences, opening to the public on Friday. Magnum Photos are there every year and for those who appreciate the analogue, platinum prints are many. The events include lectures from collectors and photographers.

The Magic Flute @ Shanghai Grand Theatre
The Komische Oper Berlin presents the most frequently performed German opera in a startling interpretation: Barrie Kosky’s production of The Magic Flute in combination with the British theatre group “1927”. A celebration of true love conquering all, The Magic Flute transports the audience into an enchanted world where good faces the forces of darkness. Featuring Mozart, performed by Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra. In German language, with English and Chinese subtitles.

New Grasslands @ Wooden Box
These regular Wooden Box bluegrass musicians always bring an uplifting mood. The lead singer plays mesmerising mandolin solos and wows everyone with his traditional Mongolian chanting, which sounds strangely like a didgeridoo.
