Academy Award winning actor and One True God Nicolas Cage was spotted purchasing some toys at a mall in Hong Kong earlier this week.
According to Apple Daily, Cage, accompanied by his wife, son, interpreter and bodyguards, showed up at a toy store named Hung Hing Toys in Wan Chai, where he bought several toys based on the classic Japanese anime Golden Warrior Gold Lightan.
The store owner named Sister Xian told reporters that the Hollywood legend and his posse had actually patronized her shop twice this week in total, once on Tuesday and then again on Thursday. Apparently, someone in the Cage household can’t get enough retro machine figurines. And who could blame them? They’re pretty sweet.
“He bought more than ten toys from me and he was very nice and took pictures with us,” Sister Xian added.
Many passersby also whipped out their smartphone when they spotted the American actor browsing around.
Cage is a pretty big deal in China, where he was named “Best Global Actor in Motion Pictures” in 2013. He starred in the American-Chinese-Canadian film “Outcast,” where he played a legendary “crusader-turned-bandit” with a ponytail known as “The White Ghost.” The film was released in April 2015 after it had been postponed without explanation in late-2014. Currently, it has an incredibly rotten score of 6% on Rotten Tomatoes.
It grossed nearly $4 million in China.
Check that, he’s a really big deal here.
