Last night during rush hour in the Hong Kong MTR, three men were injured in a bloody knife attack on a Jordan MTR station platform.
The details are just now starting to emerge. NetEase News reports that the attack occurred at around 6:30 p.m. yesterday evening, when a group of about nine men, some carrying knives, suddenly attacked the three victims as they waited on the platform.
Apple Daily reports that the three men are from South Asia. They sustained bloody injuries to their heads, arms and hands, and were rushed to the hospital.
According to witnesses, the attack lasted nearly 30 seconds with some passengers running away screaming, while others stayed hidden inside the metro cars.
In the confusion, the attackers were able to flee the scene.
A witness told Apple Daily that one of the injured men “had a piece of flesh on his forehead that was nearly falling off, and another piece of flesh on his left hand that had been chopped clean off.”
Hong Kong police said that they are inspecting the CCTV footage from the station and searching for the attackers.
