Hopefully you haven’t moved around too much since the last time we spoke, because things actually got worse over the weekend with millions more people cramming into tourist sites, streets, bridges and just generally everything.
Chinese people are expected to make more than 500 million journeys during this year’s Golden Week period. Iconic tourist sites like the Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square and West Lake in Hangzhou are once again at the top of travelers’ lists.
Actually, according to CCTV News, the number of visitors to the main tourist sites in China doubled on Saturday compared with the seemingly hellish first day of the holiday. Fortunately, 11 percent of Chinese tourists decided to head overseas this year.
