A resourceful Shandong man has spent around 100,000 yuan transforming a used car into a 40-square-meter “villa on wheels” for his family home. Hey, it’s cheaper than buying an apartment in the city.
The kinda cramped villa has four rooms: a bedroom, a living room, a dining room and a bathroom, and most of the amenities you’d expect to find in any residence: a TV, air conditioner, gas stove, double bed, bathtub, washing machine, sofa, plus it’s got wheels!
The man claims that the villa is road-ready, but it currently sits in a scenic lot on the outskirts of Dongying city.
While some netizens admit that building your own mobile home is a pretty novel idea, others can’t help but feel the man is being somewhat naive.
“Does he have permits for this? Police are just going to say that it was illegally built and take it away,” commented one netizen from Hubei.
“There’s no way this thing makes it onto the road,” wrote in another web user from Beijing.
Anyway, if it doesn’t work out as a villa, perhaps he can transform it again into a mobile goat milk dispensary or yoga studio, maybe both?
