In order to cut up the bountiful haul of fruit she picked up while she was traveling in Kunming, one Guangxi woman tried to sneak a 9cm blade onto her flight by claiming that it was merely for keeping her hair in place.
The woman from Nanning, former territory of Chinese Walter White, visited Kunming over the Golden Week holiday and apparently really enjoyed the city’s abundant choice in fruits.
According to SCMP, here is how one security worker explained the tourist’s motive for trying to take a knife on to a plane: “She bought some fruits when travelling in Yunnan and worried that the waiting time to board would be long. So she wanted to bring a fruit knife to cut up her food as a snack.”
However, airport security at the Kunming Changshui International Airport didn’t buy the lady’s excuse and instead confiscated the deadly “hair accessory.”
This guy can’t even.
Airport security workers have been making headlines in China this year for doing their job, but mostly when it comes to telling travelers that they can’t bring large amounts of alcohol onto planes. Not wanting to waste a drop, one passenger chugged an entire bottle of expensive cognac, resulting in her becoming incoherently drunk and unable to board the plane. Later, two men were seen downing a giant bottle of “aphrodisiac wine” before boarding their flight in Guangzhou.
If only Crocodile Dundee had been working security that day, the lady would have got through fine.
