The cabin crew of a Los Angeles-bound China Airlines flight had to deal with a rather unusual passenger request when one woman suddenly went into labor high above the Pacific.
The Taiwanese woman told flight attendants that her water had broken six hours into the 19-hour flight from Bali. The flight crew made an announcement for any doctors on board. Fortunately, there was one and he helped deliver the bouncing baby girl.
One passenger, Amira Rajput, shot a video of the moments after the delivery as fellow passengers applauded and flight attendants giggled with joy holding the newborn in a blanket.
“The woman is tough as nails,” Rajput told ABC News, adding that to keep from screaming, the woman bit down on blankets.
After the birth, the plane made an emergency landing at the nearest airport in Anchorage, Alaska. A border patrol agent stepped on the plane and asked to see the woman’s passport. The new mother and daughter were taken to the hospital and the little baby girl is now officially an American.
China-lover Donald Trump isn’t going to like this one bit.
