Artable Festival @ Drama Fitting Room
This 48 hour Art invasion is taking place in several locations around Shanghai, beginning at one-minute-past-midnight and continuing until midnight on Sunday. At 6am the festival moves from Drama Fitting Room to Kaiba, then Yongfoo Elite, Daliah, Peoples Square and back to Yongfoo Elite.

French Week @ Yandang Road
The 14th year of French Week, supported by the French Consulate in Shanghai, will take place in the pedestrianised section of Yandang Road. The street stalls showcase French produce, food, wine and fashion. There will also be accordion music, mosaic-art classes and games of petangque (boules).

Shanghai Rolex Masters ATP Tennis @ Qi Zhong Tennis Center
The world’s greatest tennis players, including Djokovic, Williams, Federa, Sharapova and Nadal, are all competing for the grand slam and $4,783,320 prize money. Most days are already sold-out, but you’ll probably find touts outside the venue. If money isn’t an issue, there are 3,000 – 4,000 RMB VIP tickets still available for most days.

JZ Festival @ Expo Park
From humble beginnings in Shanghai, JZ Club has become one of the biggest jazz music organisations in the PRC with venues in Wuhan, Shenzhen and more. This will be their 11th annual jazz festival, headlined by Joss Stone and Victor Wooten. Performances and activities start at 12 on both Saturday and Sunday.

Cloud Gate 2 – Beckoning @ Shanghai Theatre Academy
Cloud Gate are arguably Asia’s most successful contemporary dance troupe, and many in the PRC wonder at how the Taiwanese performing arts company does it. If you can still find tickets this will be a great opportunity to see professors from Shanghai Theatre Academy scratching their heads at the brilliance of Taiwan. Cloud Gate 2 is the company’s second-rate dance troupe, however, the choreography is always spectacular.

Yeti Years of Friendship @ Mercedes-Benz Arena
