A teenager has escaped from his kidnappers, despite having his hands and feet bound, by using skills he claims to have learnt watching violent films.
According to Xinhua, the boy, surnamed Yi, comes from a village called Fuxin near Deyang city, Sichuan province. He was kidnapped while walking alone on September 24.
Yi was taken to a nearby abandoned house where his hands were tied behind his back and his feed bound together. A plastic bag was then placed over his head and tape used to seal it around his neck. A breathing hole large enough for a straw was then cut into the bag.
After Yi heard his kidnapper leaving the building, he got up and managed to hop out of the room, eventually escaping onto the street. Yi said he had decided to escape after watching the same thing happen in gangster movies. A passing motorist who came across Yi after he had left the building stopped to help and called the police.
Police report that they have arrested a suspect in the case and are attempting to uncover the motivation for the kidnapping.
