Over the weekend, pictures of a 93-year-old fitness junkie went viral on the Chinese internet with all the youngsters lining up for tickets to see the gun show. BOOM!
Shen Hua says that age is not a barrier to staying in good physical shape. He started to workout 20 years ago and has stuck to an intense one hour exercise regiment each and every day.
We think that the results speak for themselves.
Shen can do 10 chin-ups in a row, but it seems that age may finally be catching up to this iron man “I could do 20 times a year ago,” he remembers.
When he was younger, Shen worked as a salesman and never exercised, but once he retired he saw that exercise could help him prolong his life and he didn’t have much to do anyway.
“Some people were skeptical at first, they thought I would drop out soon,” Shen recalls. But twenty years later, he never misses a day in the gym.
Netizens sitting at their computers across China expressed how energized they felt by Shen and agreed that it is never too late to start.
“He has inspired me to go to the gym for the first time, and I was born after 1990!” commented one netizen from Guangdong.
Along with regular exercise we would recommend at least 2.5 kilos a day of chili peppers to maintain good health as you grow older.
