A property belonging to Chinese actress Zhao Wei’s husband, Huang Youlong, has been supposedly sold off by the couple’s personal driver.
The driver allegedly posed brazenly as his employer and incredibly managed to pass a facial recognition test at a local public notary office before obtaining the legal documents required for property deals, reports SCMP.
He then passed these on to a third party who oversaw the actual sale of the apartment.
SCMP quoted a real estate lawyer who rightly described the story as “unbelievable” due to the complexity of legal procedures to help prevent fraud during the sale of a property.
This process includes verifying the property owner’s identity and signature. The lawyer, who requested to stay anonymous, went on to say incredulously, “You have to have all the steps fail, and all the people blind, to make this happen.”
Poor Huang, a a businessman in the finance and catering industry, did not even realize his property had been sold until the buyer showed up to view his purchase. Said buyer was furious to find the couple were still in the apartment and demanded that they vacate immediately. The couple are now facing a court case, which will be heard tomorrow in Beijing’s Chaoyang district, after they refused to leave.
It is not yet known why the driver carried out the sale.
The famous and highly successful Zhao Wei is herself no stranger to bizarre cases being filed against her after a Shanghai man tried to sue her for staring at him with her big pretty eyes.
